ABOUT WIMEC
WIMEC
WIMEC is a standardized hypoplastic thumb functionality score designed for very young and non-cooperative patients. Based on five anatomical factors score of 0 to 25 is given.

(M) the stability of the metacarpophalangeal (MP) joint
(E) extrinsic function and anomalies.
(C) stability and mobility of the carpometacarpal (CMC) joint
It can be used to evaluate pre- and postoperative results. It provides a clear and objective score for the comparison of outcomes of different groups and techniques.

WIMMECSS
WIMMECSS score is an evolution of WIMEC, designed for older and cooperative patients. Extended by three addition measurements indicative of multiple anomalies, with a total of eight anatomical factors assessed score of 0 to 40 is given.

Who is the creator of WIMEC App?
WIMEC App creation has been initiated by Hand and Plastic Surgeon dr Konrad Mende FEBHS (Universitätsspital Basel) and Paediatric and Hand Surgeon dr Kaja Gizewska – Kacprzak FEBHS (Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin).
WIMEC App has been co-created by Designer and User Researcher – Siri Breen, Product Designer – Michael Kacprzak and Software Engineer – Marcin Wrzos.
How did you arrive with the solution of mobile app?
WIMEC.APP has been built in a rapid product creation process Lean UX. The cycle explains how to quickly go from the idea to the first version of the solution, then check it with users gather feedback and adjust solutions accordingly. This is how the best digital start-ups build their products. This kind of repetitive cycle with user experience allows tailoring the product specifically to the needs.
